And here's how...

60-minute mechanical tracking

The MiniTrack has a mechanical heart: no room for electronics here. A precise mechanism tracks your camera with millimeter accuracy. Simply wind the MiniTrack like an analog clock to activate tracking. This mount never fails, even in sub-zero temperatures. Even with telephoto lenses, your new mount keeps a cool head. Not for nothing has this wide-field photography expert won the hearts of amateur astronomers.

The world's smallest counterweight?

The MiniTrack LX Quattro has a completely new spring system. It's not a counterweight, but it works like one. The LX Quattro remains as compact and travel-friendly as ever; it's simply gotten better and stronger. The spring acts directly on the axis and follows your camera like a strong, precise arm.

Tip: to achieve the ideal tracking speed, the mechanism should move between 130 and 135 times per minute. Depending on the weight of your camera, you may need to adjust the spring tension. We recommend measuring the number of ticks per minute with your phone using a TapTempo BPM app. In reality, these apps come from the music industry, where they are used to automatically measure the tempo of a piece of music. You can use this type of app to measure the speed of the MiniTrack.

Needle bearing for precise star tracking

The integrated needle bearing is to the new MiniTrack what power steering is to a car: it makes it run smoothly, as if it were on clouds. This is exactly what's needed, because it allows the MiniTrack to follow the stars fluidly and precisely, even with greater weight.

Great inside and out: solid CNC aluminum housing

The MiniTrack LX Quattro's unibody aluminum structure is striking. Nothing has been left to chance here, making this model even more stable. Ask anything of your MiniTrack; it will accompany you to the mountains or on your travels so you can enjoy all your astronomical adventures worry-free.

High load capacity of 4 kilograms

The MiniTrack is now more robust and can handle cameras weighing up to 4 kilograms. At the same time, our developers have retained its proven old shape, so you can carry it in any pocket. If you've always wanted to use a large, very fast lens but couldn't due to its size, now you can.

Find the celestial pole with greater precision

Easily find the celestial pole with the optical polar finder. The MiniTrack comes with a mount and a polar finder like those used with large mounts. This makes aligning the MiniTrack even easier for taking photos of stars that appear as points.

Fits any photographic tripod

The MiniTrack has two connections: for the tripod and for your camera or a ball head. Place the mount on your photographic tripod as usual using a 1/4" thread and align the MiniTrack. On the other side, mount a ball head with a 3/8" thread.

GP plate for the mount

Just place the MiniTrack on an equatorial wedge. No dovetail bar is needed for this, as it features an integrated Vixen GP-style plate. Everything is cast in one piece, so you'll never again have to waste time with screws or hex keys.

And what if you want to mount the MiniTrack on a tilt head? This mount has become a true bestseller and is used by thousands of astrophotographers worldwide. To ensure consistent high quality, we manufacture the MiniTrack exclusively in Portugal, where our skilled workers assemble and test it.

With this fully mechanical mini-mount, you'll be taking astrophotos in no time.
