The beam splitter diverts light to the camera; there are two positions available for the beam splitter: 100:0 and 0:100. The entire light beam goes either to the eyepieces or to the trinocular tube. Additional objectives and eyepieces can be installed to increase the magnification range. The microscope uses plan achromatic objectives with a long working distance for brightfield and darkfield microscopy techniques. The revolving nosepiece has five positions for installing objectives; the kit includes four objectives and another one can be optionally installed. This allows the hands to rest on the table while working, rather than holding them in the air.
