ASI 174 MM Mini Mono Camera

Now, ZWOptical's popular ASI 174 series also includes a special autoguiding camera. With its compact housing and low weight, this camera is perfect for any OAG (Off-Axis Guider) system. The high quantum efficiency of Sony's IMX174 sensor, its relatively large dimensions, and infrared sensitivity guarantee successful guide star acquisition every time. Naturally, the camera is equipped with an ST-4 port.

This highly sensitive black-and-white camera is also ideal for astrophotography: it is fast enough to capture the Moon and planets by Lucky Imaging (stacking). The pixels are so small that it not only offers adequate resolution for planets but also sufficiently high resolution for photographing faint deep-sky nebulae— a versatile gem!

The CMOS sensor is so compact that it is capable of excellent captures even in small uncooled housings. Given its short backfocus, this camera can even be used in difficult focus positions, as is the case, for example, with Newtonian telescopes that are not optimized for photography.

The camera is equipped with a transparent glass filter that is sensitive to infrared light. Combined with an infrared pass filter, it opens up a whole range of possibilities for planetary photography. If used with a refractor telescope, however, it is more advisable to attach an infrared blocking filter, because the imaging properties of the lens in the telescope's objective are optimized for capturing visible light, not the infrared region.
