ZWO ASI 533 MM Pro - powerful next-generation mono astro camera

ZWO has taken another step forward with this new camera. The monochrome sensor, with an approximate 16mm diagonal, can be used with almost any telescope. Thanks to its square shape, it optimally utilizes the corrected field of view of telescopes. This even allows the use of many telescopes without a corrector.

One of the most outstanding features of the ASI 533MM Pro is its sensational light sensitivity. The 80% QE, thanks to back-illumination technology and the extremely low amplifier brightness, makes the camera very suitable for all Astronomik applications, but especially for deep-sky astrophotography.

Other advantages and features of the ASI 533 MM Pro Mono product:

  • USB 3.0 for fast downloads - also compatible with USB 2.0
  • DDR3 buffer memory for stable data transfer with USB 2.0 - minimizes amplifier brightness
  • Powerful Peltier cooling up to 35°C under ambient conditions
  • One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
  • High resolution thanks to 3.76 µm pixels - ideal for fast, sharp telescopes such as Apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar, and fast Newtonian telescopes
  • High sensitivity (QE approx. 80%) astronomical camera ideal for faint objects
  • 14-bit ADC, allowing it to achieve the same depth as CCD cameras, but with much greater sensitivity

Camera application fields:

  • Deep-sky imaging (nebulae and galaxies): Thanks to its high sensitivity, images of nebulae and galaxies are obtained in just a few seconds. The camera can be cooled to 35°C below ambient temperature. This further reduces the already low noise. Increasing the gain can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. This eliminates the effects caused by tracking inaccuracies.
  • Lunar and planetary images: Extremely short exposure times, thanks to high sensitivity, freeze air turbulence. The sensor's high resolution allows for highly detailed images even with shorter telescope focal lengths. Video astronomy is also possible.

ZWO ASI cameras with active cooling require an additional 12-volt power supply. If you do not have a suitable power supply, you will find it in the accessories recommendations.

A 12V, 3A–5A DC power supply with a 5.5×2.1mm plug and center positive terminal is required, or an 11–14V lithium battery. Please note that using a power supply outside this voltage range will likely cause irreparable damage to the camera.
