Omegon Deep-Sky Broadband Filter - Increases contrast in Deep-Sky objects
The Omegon Deep-Sky filter increases contrast in such objects. It can be used for both visual observations and astronomical photography. Blocks artificial light sources and makes nebulae visible again.

Visual observation in small telescopes
Have you ever seen a photograph of the Earth at night? It seems covered with a carpet of lights. Lamps, streetlights and illuminated buildings are the worst enemies of astronomers.

This Deep-Sky filter is an ace up your sleeve to win the battle against light pollution. Also suitable for smaller telescopes.

Astrophotography in the city
In photographs taken in urban areas, a short exposure is enough for the sky to appear extremely clear. However, with the Deep-Sky filter it is possible to get beautiful snapshots. The exposure time can be lengthened. The result: Greater contrast with a sky that is, despite everything, dark and the objects highlighted.

Selective... there are good wavelengths and bad ones
The Deep-Sky filter only lets through the light that favors observation. These are, above all, the 496 nm and 501 nm hydrogen lines. In these areas of the spectrum there are some nebulae such as Orion.

Light from mercury or sodium vapor lamps, i.e. normal night lighting, is blocked.

Advantages:

  • Deep-Sky filter for visual observations and astrophotography
  • Planoptic surfaces with dielectric coating
  • Universal broadband filter for filtered observations
  • Blocking artificial lighting sources
  • 1.25" filter thread to screw onto eyepieces or camera adapters
