The beautifully designed Levenhuk Rainbow 2L microscope turns even the most boring biology lesson into a fascinating exploration. This microscope allows children to discover what the things around them are made of, study insects and plants, see if yogurt actually contains living organisms, and much more. The Levenhuk Rainbow 2L microscope comes with an experiment kit that allows young explorers to use the microscope from day one.
High-quality optics
The microscope lenses are made of special, highly transparent glass. In addition, the optical surfaces are coated with multiple layers that increase light transmission and improve image quality. This model comes with three objectives, allowing the microscope to provide magnifications ranging from 40–400x. Changing magnification is very easy; all you have to do is turn the turret.
Versatility: study both transparent and opaque samples
One of the main advantages of this microscope is that it offers the possibility of observing both transparent and opaque samples. To achieve this, the microscope is equipped with two light sources. The lower light is used to observe transparent samples, such as thin sections of plants and insects. The upper light allows observing opaque objects, such as small stones, coins, banknotes, and many other objects. Semi-transparent samples can also be observed by turning on both light sources simultaneously. The only limitations on the selection of interesting samples for analysis will be the size of the samples and the observer's imagination.
Smart and beautiful design
The plastic body of this microscope is much lighter than metal bodies. This makes it easy to transport to school, on a hike, or while visiting friends. At the same time, it's very durable, making it perfect for intensive use. For comfortable observations, the head tilts at 45°. The illumination can be plugged into an electrical outlet or powered by batteries.
Caution: Check the specifications table for the correct voltage and never plug a 110V device into a 220V outlet or vice versa without using an adapter. Remember that the voltage in the United States and Canada is 110V, and in most European countries it's 220–240V.
