The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC camera mounting rail is made of cast aluminium. The dovetail mounting rail has a width of 45 mm (similar to the Vixen dovetail style) and a length of 280 mm. The matte black anodized surface features a laser-engraved scale with a fine 2 mm graduation on one side. This makes it easier to determine the center of gravity when mounting the camera on the mount head. To protect the clamping surface, there is a stainless steel clamping plate on the opposite side. The dovetail plate has rubber inserts in three positions. This allows for secure attachment of camera equipment and prevents accidental rotation and slipping. The mounting rail has a screw attachment with a 1/4-inch photographic thread, suitable for almost all common camera systems. The threaded clamp can be used in three different positions with elongated holes to achieve perfect balance. In addition, a 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch photographic thread adapter is also included, so that ball heads with larger threads can also be used directly. The camera mounting rail weighs only 250 grams. Suitable for all EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC and BRESSER mounts, as well as mounts from other brands compatible with the popular Vixen-GP dovetail rail.
