With a 130 mm primary mirror, the Newton 130/650 StarQuest Telescope collects 30% more light than a 114mm telescope.

With this telescope and under a very dark sky it is possible to see more details than with a smaller instrument. The beginner can invest in a telescope of very good quality and a tight budget.

In planetary observing, you will reveal many details about Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon using a Barlow lens or short focal length eyepiece. Its Newton design offers several advantages over other types of instruments (refractors and Cassegrain-type telescopes).

The manufacture of mirrors is primarily more economical (spherical mirror) with the same diameter and focal length ratio is generally more economical. The central obstruction is also less than that of Cassegrain-type telescopes, and if collimation (mirror adjustment) is respected, the image quality is good in planetary observation.

The StarQuest equatorial mount offers good stability with this Newton 130 , even at high magnification, as well as good robustness for a starter instrument. It also allows precise positioning in the sky thanks to the motion controls present on each axis.

Derived from the StarAdventure travel mount, it uses its design, the clamping system on each axis and the tracking quality. The male dovetail placed under the optical tube fits over the female dovetail of the mount.

The equatorial mode design allows after installation (simple adjustment of the orientation of the mount towards the polar star) to compensate for the rotation of the earth.

An optional SW0442 motor is available (easy to attach and use) offering greater user convenience.
