The updated versionThe ASI6200 series offers the following improvements:
Improved motherboard, improved performance thanks to reduced read noise and faster image speeds
New matte surface for a more professional and higher quality look
The ZWO ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro : a powerful, state-of-the-art astronomical camera
ZWO has taken another step forward with this new camera. Thanks to its full-frame sensor with aWith a diagonal of approximately 43 mm , astronomical photographs with huge image fields can be taken.
One of the most outstanding features of the ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro is its sensational light sensitivity. Its QE is 80% thanks to the technologyBACK ILLUMINATIONand the amplifier has very low brightness. This makes this camera a very suitable choice for all astronomical applications, but especially for deep-sky astrophotography.
Other advantages and features of the ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro camera:
USB 3.0 for fast download (also works with USB 2.0)
DDR3 buffer memory for stable data transfer with USB 2.0: minimizes amplifier brightness
Powerful Peltier cooling up to 35°C under ambient conditions
One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
High resolution thanks to the 3.76 µm pixels, making it ideal for fast and sharp telescopes, such as apochromatic, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar or fast Newtonian telescopes.
High sensitivity (QE of approx. 80%) makes it an ideal astronomical camera for faint objects
16-bit ADC, which allows achieving the same depth as CCD cameras, but with much greater sensitivity.
Areas of application for the camera:
Deep-sky photography (nebulae and galaxies): Thanks to its high sensitivity, images of nebulae and galaxies can be obtained in just a few seconds. The camera can be cooled to 35°C below ambient temperature, further reducing the already low noise. By increasing the gain, exposure times can be reduced to less than 30 seconds, eliminating the effects of tracking inaccuracies.
Lunar and planetary photography: Extremely short exposure times, thanks to the camera's high sensitivity, freeze distortions caused by atmospheric effects. The sensor's high resolution allows for capturing a wealth of detail, even with shorter telescope focal lengths. It can also be used for video astronomy.
ZWO ASI cameras with active cooling require an additional 12-volt power supply. If you do not have a suitable power supply, you will find it in the accessories recommendations.
A 12V, 3A–5A DC power supply with a 5.5×2.1mm plug and center positive terminal is required, or an 11–14V lithium battery. Please note that using a power supply outside this voltage range will likely cause irreparable damage to the camera.
