Earth and Moon Day and Night Slide Kit

This expansion pack includes two additional slides for both Sega Toys Homestar Pro Original Personal Planetarium and Sega Toys Homestar Flux Home Planetarium.

Earth by day with the Moon: This projection slide shows the globe 700,000 km above Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. The full Moon appears about 380,000 km behind the Earth. This alignment occurred on March 1, 2002, and can be reproduced with Redshift.

The second slide shows Earth at night with the Moon, this time 700,000 km above the Red Sea. The Moon is now closer to the observer than the Earth, and we can admire its visible face. This representation corresponds to the alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Moon on November 9, 2011. The Moon and Earth are magnified by a factor of 50 to allow us to appreciate their details.
