The MAGUS Bio 230B microscope is designed for scientific and laboratory research to observe biological samples such as thin sections or smears. It uses transmitted light (brightfield) as a microscopy technique for studying samples. If necessary, the microscope can be equipped with additional accessories to utilize darkfield, polarized light, and phase contrast techniques. This microscope can be used in research fields such as the pharmaceutical industry, medicine, biotechnology, environmental protection, forensics, and agriculture.
Optics
The microscope has a binocular head. The observation tubes can be rotated 360°, allowing the user to adjust their position according to their height. There is a diopter adjustment ring on the left tube. The rotating nosepiece has 5 positions and faces inwards: the user can see the objectives inserted in the optical path, thus freeing up the space above the stage. The kit includes four achromatic objectives, and the fifth position can be used to install an optional objective.
The optical elements are infinity-corrected. The basic magnification of the microscope ranges from 40 to 1000x. With additional eyepieces, the magnification can be extended to 1500, 1600, and 2000x. If necessary, a digital camera (not included) can be mounted on the eyepiece tube.
Lightning
The light source is a halogen bulb located at the base of the microscope. The warm illumination reduces eye strain and is ideal for long hours of microscope work. The 30 W halogen lamp enables bright, high-contrast images with any objective type and any microscopy technique (including darkfield and phase contrast).
The Abbe condenser can be centered and its position is height-adjustable. A phase contrast or darkfield plate can be installed in a special slot, allowing the user to easily switch between microscopy techniques. The field diaphragm allows for configuration of the Köhler illumination system.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The stage does not have a positioning rack, which makes working with the microscope easier. A mechanical micrometer, which can be removed if necessary, allows the specimen to be moved smoothly across the stage.
The coarse and fine focus controls are coaxial (arranged on the same axis) and located on both sides of the bottom of the microscope. This position of the focus controls allows you to rest your hands freely on the table and sit comfortably for extended periods of work. Focus adjustment is fluid and requires no additional effort. The coarse focus has a locking knob and a focus tension adjustment.
Accessories
The microscope's capabilities can be expanded with additional equipment, such as objectives, eyepieces, phase contrast devices, darkfield condensers, polarizing devices, digital cameras, or other accessories. These accessories are designed for the MAGUS Bio 230B model and are available upon request.
