To produce a three-dimensional image, the CMO stereo microscope uses a common main objective, which is placed exactly perpendicular to the sample plane. The light passing through or reflected from the sample enters the main objective and is distributed into two parallel optical channels. The stereoscopic angle is 11°. The light is then introduced into the eyepieces or the digital camera. By changing the main objective, the magnification, field of view, and working distance of the microscope are changed.

MAGUS Stereo A6, A8, and A10 microscopes are equipped with a 1x achromatic objective that provides a high degree of field curvature correction, as well as spherical and chromatic aberrations.
The MAGUS 2APO 2x Plan Apochromatic Main Objective increases the total magnification of a stereo microscope while reducing the working distance and field of view in the eyepieces and the digital camera. The apochromatic optical system improves the correction of spherical and chromatic aberrations, resulting in sharper and clearer images.
