The most affordable 2" eyepiece: view larger sections of the sky to see distant objects and much more...
Who doesn't love observing large areas of the sky, the spiral arms of galaxies, or the outcrops of the Cirrus Nebula? With the Omegon Super Plössl eyepiece, it's possible. And at an unbeatable price.

Summary of the benefits:

  • 56mm focal length for small magnifications and better vision
  • Lens with darkened edges and rubber eyecup for high contrast
  • 52º field of view to see large sections of sky
  • Only 4 lenses in the eyepiece body for greater transmission
  • Multi-layer anti-reflective coating
  • 2" eyepiece with 2" filter thread
  • High performance at a low price

Like a panoramic window to infinity
Unobstructed, limitless views of the sky. Almost... That's what the Omegon 56mm Super Plössl eyepiece offers, thanks to its 2" design combined with a 56mm focal length. And that's not to mention another advantage: at low magnification, this eyepiece is perfect for observing even fainter objects.

Suitable for long focal length telescopes
Long focal length telescopes don't usually offer many options when low magnification is required. So how can you still observe a large field of view with them? With the Omegon 56mm Plössl eyepiece. For example, with a 2000mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, you'll enjoy sweeping views of the sky at 1.5°. Or, to put it another way, you can fit three full moons into it.

High peripheral resolution for greater enjoyment
One of the great qualities of this eyepiece is its extremely good resolution at the edges of the image, allowing you to see a flat field of view all the way to the outer edges. But what about chromatic aberration? Don't worry, there's none! Isn't that great?

See everything at a glance
This eyepiece offers maximum viewing comfort and a 21 mm eye relief, meaning you can enjoy good vision even when wearing glasses. When you focus on an object, you'll have the rest of the field of view in view without having to make sudden eye movements.

Shaded edge lens: increased contrast with both dim and bright objects
The telescope viewing experience depends on the quality of the eyepiece, which is just as important as the telescope itself. It will influence whether or not you can see the spiral arms of M51 or the smaller planets that almost escape the telescope's detection capability. It also helps reduce glare from brighter celestial objects.

Another reason why Super Plössl eyepieces offer such good contrast is that the edges of the lens are shaded, so that light isn't lost along the way, but instead reaches where it needs to go: your eye.

Rubber goggles to prevent stray light
Omegon Plössl eyepieces are equipped with a rubber eyecup that prevents stray light from entering from the sides. This ensures comfortable observing with significantly improved contrast.
