The Telescope

Ambitious beginners and advanced users can observe the brightest objects outside the solar system with this device. Discover the structures in the Orion Nebula at an incredible distance of 1,500 light-years (14,200,000,000,000 km)! Traversing the terminator on the Moon is a pleasure. You'll never want to part with the Messier AR-102xs again.

As a compact travel device, the Messier AR-102xs offers excellent performance. Especially with its very short focal length of only 460 mm, it allows impressive wide-field observations of open star clusters and the Milky Way.

Only by using special ED glass were we able to achieve this very bright device. It offers extraordinary image quality with very low chromatic aberration at an attractive price. And with the included objective solar filter, you can also observe our own sun. (Attention: Never point the telescope at the Sun without a solar filter!)

The Mount

The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and very precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi control unit, which provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are connected directly to this unit via cable, and it also features an ST-4 compatible autoguiding interface. In addition, the control system supports micro-stepping mode to ensure precise tracking.

Intuitive operation via app and graphical star chart
The ExploreStars app, developed specifically for the PMC-Eight system, impresses with its intuitive and graphically appealing user interface. It displays the available alignment stars for control initialization, as well as all celestial objects from the database, in the form of a star chart with additional information. All these objects can be conveniently visualized and selected.

Powerful control unit with Open GoTo for customization
The heart of the control unit is a fully autonomous multi-channel processor with 8 CPUs and a 10/100 Ethernet Wi-Fi adapter with IP function. This allows remote control via a browser, ASCOM, app or serial connection. With the Open GoTo system, it is also possible to write your own firmware and upload it to the control unit. This allows individual adjustments of the device functions and the creation of your own object lists, etc.

Polar finder included
The included, pre-installed polar finder allows for quick and precise polar alignment and long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED illumination unit further enhances the user comfort of the polar finder.
