Omegon 154mm Cassegrain and iOptron CEM26 Mount
This system consists of an Omegon Pro Cassegrain CC 154/1848 OTA and an iOptron CEM26 LiteRoc mount. Are you looking for a telescope for the Moon and planets? Or for objects that require a long focal length? This Omegon Cassegrain offers a short focal length despite its long focal length. The CEM26 mount makes this system a compact all-rounder that makes even small galaxies appear enormous.
Stunning astronomical photographs with a professional telescope
This Cassegrain telescope was designed to capture the highest quality and most beautiful astrophotographs. Images have increased contrast and sharpness right to the edge. It's no wonder professional observatories use this type of telescope almost exclusively. Now this technique is affordable for amateurs too. Would you like to take your astrophotography to a professional level?
Summary of its advantages:
- Primary mirror with 94% reflection for clearer images than a standard telescope
- 8 scattered light baffles for greater contrast and sharpness
- Quartz mirror for better imaging during the acclimatization phase: focus remains stable even during long photography nights
- 2" and 1.25" Crayford focusers prevent mirror shift and achieve a high back focus. For astrophotography, simply attach your SLR camera with the included 50mm and 25mm connectors.
- Full lighting with APS-C sensors or sensors up to 30 mm in diameter
Who is this telescope intended for?
A Cassegrain telescope is a system for taking beautiful astronomical photographs you can be proud of. Many types of telescopes are designed for everything from photography to visual observation. But that's not entirely true; everyone knows there's no such thing as an expert in everything. That's why this telescope was created especially for astrophotographers who like to photograph compact objects. We don't want a mediocre telescope for mediocre photos. We want an instrument for astrophotography experts. This telescope is perfect for obtaining first-class photographs of the sky.
Full illumination for most sensors
This Omegon Cassegrain telescope is ideal for photographing starry skies. Connect cameras with sensors up to 30 mm in diameter and benefit from full illumination without vignetting.
Why is a Cassegrain telescope better than a Schmidt-Cassegrain?
The Omegon Cassegrain's primary mirror is parabolic, and the secondary mirror is hyperbolic. This results in much fewer image aberrations: the image field is flatter, the coma is lower, and the field sharpness is considerably greater. This means you'll be able to take much more beautiful photographs of stars, even seeing the finest details. Your astrophotos will be fascinating in every way.
What are the advantages of this telescope over an SC?
- Sharper image
- There are no lenses in the path of the light beam and therefore no infrared filter is needed for planetary photography.
- Larger useful image field for photography, with fewer optical aberrations
- Less obstruction, which increases contrast
- There are no chromatic aberrations
- There are no ghost images in the photographs.
Faster acclimatization process
Who wants to set up the telescope and then wait forever? With this telescope, there's no need to wait. The parabolic quartz primary mirror barely deforms during the cooling phase and is much more stable than Pyrex. This means the telescope displays a crystal-clear image from the very first minute.
Quartz primary mirror with 94% reflectivity
Enhanced 94% Coating: This coating is special because every percentage point counts when it comes to achieving clearer, higher-contrast images. This mirror is the leader in its class, offering 6% more reflectivity than the standard coating found on most telescopes.
From now on, it will be able to obtain clear images of faint deep-sky objects.
Crayford: A More Than Sufficient Approach
Attach any accessory to your telescope and don't worry about focusing. You can easily achieve a sharp image with most cameras thanks to this telescope's large back focus. You can also use a focus reducer or even binoculars.
8 scattered light deflectors
They provide more contrast for sharper images where more details can be seen.
No mirror displacements
Ping-pong used to be a popular sport, but as a photographer, trying to capture a planetary nebula in the eyepiece isn't as much fun. The good news is that you no longer need to play ping-pong to get a good photo because, unlike an SC telescope, this Cassegrain has a fixed parabolic primary mirror. This way, the object doesn't bounce around in the eyepiece and stays where it belongs.
What objects can you photograph?
The Omegon Cassegrain telescope is unrivaled for photographing compact objects in the Solar System or interstellar space. With its long focal length, even small nebulae can be reached. This telescope is excellent for:
- Craters of the Moon
- Planets
- Groups of distant galaxies, planetary nebulae
- Globular star clusters
Like its direct predecessor, the CEM25P, the new CEM26 It is designed to be easy to use and transport.
iOptron's latest mount can handle a payload up to 12 kg and offers a fantastic weight-to-payload ratio of 2:6.
The key to this optimized ratio is the "CEM" design, which stands for " Center-Balanced Equatorial Mount." This design, developed by iOptron, directs the weight of the mount and payload directly to the center of the tripod to create a natural center of gravity.
Based on the experience of creating previous CEM models, additional features have been added to the new one CEM26 to ensure maximum comfort during use.
Now includes a Wi-Fi system integrated, as well as a periodic error correction (PEC) permanent.
In terms of functionality, the CEM26 offers a precise approach and very accurate tracking of the selected objects.
The CEM26 sets a new standard for compact mid-size equatorial GoTo mounts.
The center-balanced mount design places the payload weight in the center area, allowing for greater natural stability.
This is also a great advantage for astrophotography!
Another feature of the CEM26 is a counterweight bar whose length can be adjusted to prevent it from hitting the tripod legs when used very close to the horizon.
Now the alignment with the Polar is fast and can be done in any position, since the integrated Polar finder It is no longer locked by the declination axis (as was the case, for example, with the CEM25).
The CEM26 is also equipped with the latest Go2Nova® technology , making it one of the most powerful and accurate GoTo mounts currently available on the market!
The GoTo software database contains more than 212,000 objects . The Go2Nova® handset is intuitive to operate, and the large, four-line LCD display makes it easy to locate objects, even in complete darkness.
The CEM26 comes with the proven LiteRoc stainless steel tripod and a robust carrying case of aluminum.
The scope of delivery also includes a optical polar finder (iOptron AccuAlign).
