MAGUS DF3 Darkfield Condenser N.A. 0.7–0.9 For darkfield observations
The darkfield condenser makes it possible to use the darkfield technique. The darkfield technique is used to image translucent unstained samples that do not absorb light well and are invisible in brightfield.
The numerical aperture of the darkfield condenser should exceed the numerical aperture of the objective. Therefore, the condenser works with dry objectives with magnifications from 4x to 40x and N.A. less than 0.9.
The darkfield condenser is installed in the microscope body to replace the Abbe condenser.
To obtain a contrast image of the sample using the darkfield technique, it is recommended to use a coverslip 0.17 mm thick and a slide 1–1.2 mm thick.
