A darkfield condenser is used when working with the darkfield method. The darkfield method in stereomicroscopy is used for gemological research: evaluation and detection of hidden defects in precious, semi-precious, and ornamental stones. The darkfield condenser is installed above the transmitted light illuminator: at the base of the stereomicroscope and instead of the transparent plate.
It is recommended for use with the MAGUS GK1 gem clamp.
