UV/IR blocking filter 1.25"

CCD or DSLR cameras can also be very sensitive to the infrared and ultraviolet regions of the light spectrum and this can cause color balance problems when taking astrophotos with color cameras. This problem is solved by placing a UV/IR blocking filter in front of the camera.

In addition to improving color balance, it also enhances the imaging properties of lens systems (e.g. refractors). Although these systems are optimized for visible light wavelengths, in UV/IR sensitive detectors they produce a halo around the stars, which, however, also disappears with a UV/IR blocking filter.

Also suitable for observing the Sun: Sunlight can only be viewed through a protective solar filter film or a Herschel prism. But it is highly recommended to take advantage of the additional blocking of harmful UV rays that this filter offers.
