The 0.5x auxiliary objective lens increases the working distance and field of view of a stereo microscope while reducing the total magnification of the microscope.
For soldering, engraving, dissection, and any manipulation with tools that require a large working distance, a large field of view, and low magnification. The 0.5x auxiliary objective lens makes these tasks much more comfortable.

 The auxiliary lens screws onto the objective cap.
