Research microscope.
It is designed to study liquid precipitates, cell colonies, living cells, tissue cultures, and other stained and unstained samples contained in laboratory glassware.
Its inverted design allows the use of Petri dishes, multi-well plates, vials, roller culture bottles, and flasks up to 75 mm and 1.2 mm thick at the base. The microscope uses special objectives to work with this type of glassware.
With the condenser removed, it is possible to observe cell cultures in Petri dishes or cylindrical flasks up to 187 mm.
Observations are made with transmitted light using brightfield, phase contrast, and relief contrast techniques. Optional components allow for Hoffman modulation contrast techniques. The microscope is used for research in medicine, pharmacology, biology, and virology. The superior configuration of the microscope is suitable for IVF.

Microscope head

Binocular head with infinity-corrected optics. The digital camera is installed in the side port of the microscope head. The beam is split 100/0 or 0/100. The system includes a slot with a stopper for installing the relief contrast slide plate.

Revolving nosepiece

Coded revolving nosepiece for 5 objectives. This free position can also be used to install an additional objective and achieve greater magnification power.

Objectives

Infinity-corrected plan achromatic objectives with a long working distance for Petri dishes with a thickness of 1.2 mm at the base. The parfocal distance is 60 mm.
4x objectives are used for brightfield technique, while 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives are phase objectives that differ from 4x objectives by incorporating a phase ring in the exit pupil plane. These objectives are designed for phase contrast observations but are also suitable for brightfield and relief contrast techniques.

Maintaining comfortable brightness levels when changing magnification

Objectives of different magnifications transmit light with different intensity levels, so each time the objective is changed, the light brightness must be adjusted. In addition, the brightness increases sharply when switching from a higher magnification objective to a lower magnification objective. A sudden increase in brightness causes eye strain. MAGUS Bio V360 features intelligent brightness control. The microscope remembers the brightness of each objective the user has selected and automatically adjusts it when rotating the nosepiece. This intelligent control reduces the time required to adjust the brightness. MAGUS Bio V360 increases user comfort and saves time even when work requires frequent magnification changes.

Focusing mechanism

The coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial and located at a low height. The researcher can place their hands on the table and adopt a comfortable position in front of the microscope.
The ring on the right side adjusts the tension of the coarse focus travel. The user adjusts the comfortable tension for working.

Stage

The mechanical stage is fixed. A special mechanism is installed on the stage that moves the laboratory glass containers in two mutually perpendicular directions. The smooth and subtle movement of the object provides precise study: no part of the sample will be overlooked.
The long stage control knob ensures user comfort while working: the hand can rest on the stage without any effort.
The microscope kit includes a universal plate holder.

Condenser

The condenser has a numerical aperture of 0.3 (NA = 0.3) and a working distance of 75 mm. A phase contrast slide plate or a relief contrast slide plate with sectoral diaphragm is installed in the condenser slot.
A contrast slide plate is a plate with three holes. One of the holes has a phase insert for 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives, while the other two are used for brightfield observations. The annular diaphragm of the slide plate is aligned with the phase ring of the objective using a centering telescope.
A relief contrast slide plate with a sectoral diaphragm is also a plate with three holes. Relief contrast microscopy is activated by introducing the sectoral diaphragm into the optical path and placing the slide plate in the slot of the microscope head, in the position corresponding to the objective being used. The green filter (ND6), when placed in the slot with the sectoral diaphragm, reduces color halos at the edges of the observed structures. The free holes of the slide plate are designed for brightfield observations: one for a 4x objective and the second for 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives.

Illumination

The 3 W LED provides bright illumination of the sample, sufficient for all available microscope techniques and objectives. The color temperature does not change when adjusting the brightness. The LED has a lifespan of 50,000 hours.

LCD status display

The LCD display on the microscope base shows the objective magnification, the brightness of the light source, and the operating mode ("sleep", "eco").
Using the display and the corresponding knob, the user adjusts the brightness, locks the brightness adjustment, and configures standby mode and the automatic shutdown timer.

Ergonomic design

Physical discomfort causes fatigue and reduces productivity. The ergonomic design of the microscope is an important factor in everyday scientific research.
MAGUS Bio V360 provides user comfort during work.
The microscope head is positioned at an ergonomic angle so that the back and neck do not get tired.
Thanks to the low and compact stage, it is convenient for the user to handle the sample and work with laboratory glassware.
The long handle of the movement mechanism means that there is no need to lift the hand from the table to control the microscope or change a comfortable position.
The focus knobs are located at the bottom of the instrument. The user does not need to strain their hands. Focusing is effortless thanks to its smooth mechanism.

Accessories

There is a range of accessories designed for this microscope.
Eyepieces extend the microscope's magnification range. Additional eyepieces help you get the most out of the lens you use most often.
The Hoffman modulation contrast device improves contrast techniques, allowing the observation of objects that are not perceptible in brightfield and the real-time study of dynamic processes.
Other accessories include a digital camera for sending the image obtained by the microscope to a monitor and storing files, and software for real-time sample measurements.
A calibration slide is used to measure objects, which can be combined with an eyepiece provided with a measuring scale or with camera software.
Plate holders and stage plates are used to conveniently install various types and sizes of culture bottles on the microscope.
