Research microscope. Designed for viewing transparent and translucent biological samples, such as smears and cross-sections, in brightfield transmitted light. Additional accessories allow for the use of darkfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast, fluorescence, and polarization methods.
The motorized condenser and rotating nosepiece automate the process of changing objectives and adjusting the illumination system for each objective. The user is not distracted by adjustments and, therefore, can focus their attention on the research at hand, speeding up the process.
The microscope is suitable for microbiological analysis, medical diagnosis, and solving scientific and research problems.
Microscope head
Trinocular head with infinity-corrected optics. The user selects the most comfortable angle of inclination of the microscope head within a range of 0° to 35°. The digital camera is mounted on the trinocular tube. The beam splits into 0/100, 100/0, or 80/20.
The basic kit includes 10x/25mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment and a long eye relief for working with glasses.
Revolving revolver and targets
The motorized rotating turret for 6 objectives is oriented inwards: The user sees the objective inserted in the optical path, and the space above the stage is free. This free position can also be used to install an additional objective for increased magnification. The objectives are plan achromatic, with a parfocal height of 60 mm.
Above the turret there is a slot with a plug for installing an analyzer, compensators or differential interference contrast sliders.
Remote control of the rotating revolver
The microscope's front panel features objective selection buttons. By pressing one button, the rotating turret automatically places the selected objective in its working position. Another button switches between the two most frequently used objectives.
On both sides of the body, next to the focus controls, there are buttons for rotating the revolver.
The illumination and condenser position are automatically adjusted to the selected lens.
These features improve user comfort, speed, and efficiency. They represent an advantage for microphotography, as the shooting conditions remain the same for each sample.
Maintaining comfortable brightness levels when changing magnification
Objectives with different magnifications transmit light at different levels of intensity, so the light brightness must be adjusted every time the objective is changed. Furthermore, the brightness increases abruptly when changing from a higher magnification objective to a lower magnification objective. A sudden increase in brightness causes eye fatigue. The MAGUS Bio 290T features intelligent brightness control. The microscope remembers the brightness of each objective the user has selected and automatically adjusts it by rotating the turret. This intelligent control reduces the time required to adjust brightness. The MAGUS Bio 290T increases user comfort and saves time even when the work to be performed requires frequent magnification changes.
Focusing mechanism
The coarse and fine focusing controls are coaxial and low-mounted. The researcher can place their hands on the table and assume a comfortable position in front of the microscope.
The coarse focus lock knob helps you quickly adjust the microscope after changing the object of study. The knob is located on the left side of the microscope, on the same axis as the focusing mechanism.
The ring on the right side adjusts the tension of the coarse focus travel. The user can set the tension to a comfortable working position.
Platen
A chemically tempered Gorilla Glass plate is mounted on the stage. The plate is durable, resistant to mechanical and chemical impacts, and easy to keep clean. The sample holder is secured with two screws and can be easily removed during manual scanning.
The long control handle of the stage ensures user comfort while working: the user's hand rests effortlessly on the table.
Condenser
Optimal condenser settings for each objective: The rotating auxiliary lens automatically moves out of the beam path for low-magnification objectives and back in for objectives with magnifications above 10x. One less manual step: for quick and comfortable handling. The user can also individually adjust the position of the rotating auxiliary condenser lens for specific studies.
The condenser is height-adjustable and centerable. Mounting type: dovetail.
The condenser ring adjusts the iris aperture diaphragm. The condenser body has white aperture markings and colored markings for the objective lens magnification, and the ring has a positioning indicator. To achieve the desired contrast for each objective lens, it is recommended to rotate the ring so that the indicator marker matches the aperture or magnification marking on the objective lens being used.
Lightning
The transmitted light illuminator has a 3W LED lamp. The color temperature does not change when adjusting the brightness. The LED has a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
Köhler illumination system with transmitted light
Image contrast is regulated by the condenser's aperture diaphragm, and the illuminated field area is regulated by the field diaphragm of the collector lens. The field aperture control is located on the right side of the lower body, next to the focus adjustment area. This simplifies setting the Köhler illumination.
Köhler illumination improves the image quality of the observed sample: each objective achieves its maximum resolution, and the field of view is evenly illuminated, without dark areas at the edges. The examined sample will be in sharp focus, and the image will be free of artifacts.
Ergonomic design
Physical discomfort causes fatigue and reduces productivity. The ergonomic design of a microscope is an important factor in everyday scientific research.
The MAGUS Bio 290T provides user comfort while working. Motorized components increase speed and simplify repetitive tasks when changing lenses frequently.
The user chooses a comfortable tilt angle for the microscope head so that the back and neck do not become tired.
The focusing controls are located on the bottom of the instrument. The user doesn't need to strain their hands. Focusing is effortless thanks to its smooth mechanism.
The microscope is operated with minimal hand movement, as the stage and fine-focus controls are located on the same working area.
Accessories
There is a range of accessories designed for this microscope.
You can use optional objectives to increase the magnification power of the microscope.
Eyepieces extend the magnification range of your microscope. Optional eyepieces help you get the most out of your most frequently used objective.
Phase contrast devices, fluorescent accessories, darkfield condensers, polarizing devices, and DIC devices extend contrast methods and allow the study of objects that are invisible in brightfield techniques.
Other accessories include a digital camera to send the image obtained by the microscope to a monitor and store files, and software to perform sample measurements in real time.
A calibration slide is used to measure objects, which can be combined with an eyepiece equipped with a scale or with the camera software.
