MAGUS MP20 20x/0.40 ∞/0.17 Infinity Plan Achromatic Objective

The resolution limit of the 20x/0.40 objective is 0.69 µm.

Chromatic aberrations are corrected for blue and red light, spherical aberration for green light, and field curvature for 90% of the field of view diameter.

The objective is infinity-corrected. The parfocal distance is 45 mm. When observing with a 10/22 mm eyepiece, the field of view diameter will be 1.1 mm. The objective is designed to work with samples covered with a 0.17 mm thick coverslip.

The lower limit of useful microscope magnification when observing with a 20x objective is 200x. Any magnification lower than that will not allow you to see the details of the object in the image obtained by the objective.

The upper limit of useful magnification when observing with a 20x objective is 400x. Any magnification greater than that is considered useless as it provides no new details of the sample. We recommend using eyepieces with a magnification of 10x to 20x with the 20x/0.4 objective.

Plan achromatic objectives produce an image that is uniformly in focus at both the center and edges, with minimal distortion. This feature is used for digital imaging and for pairing the objective with wide-field eyepieces and a 22 mm field of view.

The objective is suitable for studying details of the structure of a sample 1 µm or larger within a large field of view, for example, for urine analysis using the Nechiporenko method.
