Levenhuk LabZZ Mechanical Planetarium
Visual aid for studying astronomy and geography
The Levenhuk LabZZ Mechanical Planetarium is a tabletop mechanical model that demonstrates the Earth and Moon’s rotation around the Sun. This tellurion model helps children understand why seasons exist, how the Moon’s phases change, and why a year has 12 months. The tellurion is a wonderful visual aid for astronomy or geography lessons.
The tellurion model is attached to a stand with a screw. All of the tellurion's components are connected by gears. The Earth and Moon models are operated by turning a small crank.
There is a model of the Sun (with internal illumination) in the center of the rotating mechanism. The Sun's lamp is switched on using a switch located under its base.
The globe rotates around the Sun counterclockwise. The tellurion allows you to see the change of seasons. When the Earth has completed one rotation around the Sun, the Moon has made 12 orbits around the Earth, which correspond to the 12 months of the year.
The main elements of this model are made of durable and safe plastic. The respective diameters of the Sun, Earth, and Moon models are 100, 85, and 18 mm.
Note: The tellurion contains small parts. Do not allow children to play with the tellurion without adult supervision.
