ProDob 406.4mm Dobson Telescope: Stars and galaxies look almost like a photograph
When you see the Whirlpool Galaxy so sharp in your eyepiece it looks like a photo. When you can identify small details. When globular star clusters are well defined right down to the center. Or when he distinguishes the colors of the Orion Nebula. It's in those moments that you realize that the Omegon 16" Dobson Telescope has it all.
Enjoy fantastic observing sessions with it that would be unthinkable with other smaller telescopes.
Summary of its advantages:
- Sensitive focus: 2" Crayford with 1.25" adapter and 1:10 reduction
- Friction system: smooth and precise movement
- Capturing details in galaxies: collects 4 times more light than a 203mm telescope
- Needle bearing: smooth and precise movement in azimuth, even with just one finger
- Primary mirror for brighter images: 94% improved coverage
- Fan for primary mirror: faster cooling for faster observation.
Deluxe friction system
The new friction system makes it even easier to precisely adjust and track celestial objects. Instead of Teflon pads, the shafts are equipped with needle bearings in the azimuth and a ball bearing system in the elevation shaft. This makes the telescope easier to navigate and follows its movement smoothly in all directions. Thanks to this system, even at high magnification, celestial objects remain in your field of vision. It is an invaluable advantage! You can comfortably adjust the friction using two aluminum manual wheels adjusted to your needs.
The center of gravity can be better adjusted
Another advantage of the friction system is that the center of gravity of the telescope can be better adjusted. Especially if you use a heavy eyepiece, with which the system can quickly become unbalanced and tilt to one side.
New grid tube system made of carbon fiber
The Omegon 406mm Dobson has an improved design! Enjoy now the grid tube system made of V-shaped carbon fiber rods, just like in professional telescopes. This makes the telescope stable and resistant to twisting, pleasant to the touch on cold nights and more attractive looking.
The assembly is very simple
Although the Omegon 406mm Dobson is a large telescope, transporting it to your viewing location and setting it up is easy. The telescope consists of the case, the primary mirror tube and the grating tubes. A new mounting system keeps the grid tubes in position without the need for tools. Despite its size, it is assembled in minutes and can be transported without any problem in the car.
18 point mirror cell
The primary mirror is mounted in an 18-point cell with mounted and movable triangular elements, so the entire mirror is evenly supported and offers a perfect image in every position.
Main mirror with 94% reflection for clearer images
Dobson telescopes are true specialists for deep sky observation. The richness of contrasts, details and clarity of the image are to the telescope what the stars are to the sky. And that is precisely what this parallactic main mirror offers you. Thanks to the 94% Enhanced Coating treatment on the surface, you'll enjoy ultra-clear images, including those of deep-sky objects at the edge of the visible.
Greater observation agility: fan for the main mirror
Just a slight, inconspicuous hum, but with a huge effect: the integrated 12V fan cools the main mirror up to 50% faster, so your telescope can reach optimal image quality much sooner. Long waits are over!
2" Crayford eyepiece holder
Use its 1.25 or 2" eyepieces and enjoy spectacular panoramic observations. The ball bearings will allow you to focus on the object you want to look at with complete smoothness.
The advantage of the Dobson: easier and faster to assemble
What is the best thing about this format? Well, Dobson telescopes only consist of 2 pieces, so they can be assembled in a breeze. In addition, they are more economical than other comparable telescopes on equatorial mounts. They stand out because they allow you to really enjoy the visual observation sessions. Explore the sky: it's amazing what you can see with your own eyes.
