Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" (400/1830) Retractable Dobsonian Telescope
Newtonian reflector with a truss tube design on a Dobsonian mount. Aperture: 406mm. Focal length: 1830mm
The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" (400/1830) is an open truss, retractable telescope on a Dobsonian mount. This powerful, practical design represents a premium solution for impressive visual astronomy. Its 406mm aperture and 1830mm focal length make it the perfect tool for clearly seeing the finest planetary details: Jupiter’s dynamic cloud bands and Great Red Spot, the intricate structure of Saturn’s rings, Mars’ polar ice caps, and the distinct phases of Venus and Mercury. Its deep sky observing capabilities bring celestial wonders within easy reach. Observe famous nebulae such as Orion, the Ring, and the Dumbbell; nearby galaxies like Andromeda and the Whirlpool; rich clusters in Coma Berenices; and countless globular clusters. A favorite among lunar observers, this telescope uses its powerful optics to reveal our Moon’s surface in exceptional detail, resolving craters, mountain ranges, and rilles as small as 1.5–2 km with stunning clarity. Choosing the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" is an investment in knowledge, vivid experiences, and countless unforgettable nights under the stars.
A precision-engineered optical system guarantees pure, natural color rendition. Being a Newtonian reflector, this telescope eliminates chromatic aberration, so you won't see annoying halos or color fringing around stars or planets. The parabolic primary mirror correctly collects and focuses light, eliminating spherical distortion and ensuring impeccable image sharpness. The optical elements are made of BK-7 glass and coated with aluminum, allowing it to achieve 92–95% reflectivity. Image focus is easily adjusted using the 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser (1.25" adapter included). The package includes 10mm and 25mm Plössl eyepieces, providing 183x and 73x magnifications, respectively. You can customize the telescope with a range of accessories to suit your observing style. With a maximum useful magnification of 800x, the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" allows for ample experimentation and exploration at high magnifications.
The telescope’s optical tube uses a fixed, open truss design. It comes with a protective shroud to shield the optics from dust and is installed on the included Dobsonian base, which is operated manually. The mount is made of robust, high-quality wood, providing a stable and durable foundation capable of supporting the heavy 32.1kg optical tube.
For optimal performance within its operating range of –5°C to +35°C, allow the large primary mirror to thermally acclimate to the night conditions for 1.5–3 hours before beginning your observing session. Using the included mirror cooling fan can significantly reduce this acclimation time and helps maintain stable image quality throughout your session.
