Under the name Messier, the traditional Bresser company offers telescopes for ambitious beginners with an excellent price-performance ratio. Messier telescope systems are expandable and retrofittable, making them useful well beyond the initial steps.
Maksutov Optics: Maksutov telescopes are very compact and therefore ideal for mobile astronomy or travel. The closed tube and the stability of the Maksutov are a guarantee of excellent robustness.
Despite their compact design, the Maksutovs offer a long focal length. That is why its field of view is a little more limited than in lens telescopes. This combination makes them excellent tools for observing planets and the Moon, but also compact deep-sky objects, such as planetary nebulae (e.g. Lyra or Dumbbell Nebula) and open star clusters (e.g. of Hercules). This selection of objects is ideal for astronomers observing from areas near cities with light pollution, since large objects with low surface brightness are absorbed by the luminosity present in the sky. Due to their construction, Maksutov telescopes do not exhibit chromatic aberration.
Equipped with an Amici prism, this optic is also suitable for terrestrial observation and photography.
The telescope is supplied with the Hexafoc focuser, which has a free aperture of 64 mm. For photographic use in particular, the focuser can be retrofitted with a 1:10 reducer (see “Recommended accessories”). This fine drive allows for more precise focus adjustment.
