The tubes of the new NexStar SE telescopes recover the classic orange color of the Celestron from the seventies. However, this return to the roots is combined with the most advanced technology and a coating technology that amateur astronomers of that time could not have imagined:
XLT Coating – Thanks to this multi-layer anti-reflective coating, Celestron SE optics have the highest proven light transmission, meaning up to 10% more light enters the eyepiece in the particularly important wavelength range of around 500 nm.
Finally, the “Travel Pro” , Celestron's first flexible fork mount, has an integrated stand, which can also be used without a tripod. The tube can be detached from the mount in a single step. So you can take the optic on the plane as hand luggage and check the mount in a suitcase. Other instruments for different tasks, such as a solar telescope or multiple cameras with different lenses, can also be attached to the same fork mount.
GOTO Control with SkyAlign – Aligning a telescope has never been easier – no level or compass required, not even the North Star (can be used on the balcony observatory!). Simply enter your local coordinates and time, point to “any three” stars (you don't even have to know their names), and press “ENTER.” The telescope already knows the sky above it and moves up to 40,000 programmed objects as if by magic.
Updatable controllerfuture proof! Thanks to Flash EPROM technology, the control software can be updated at any time via the Internet.
GPS module (optionally available) , saving you from having to enter location coordinates and time: this module receives this data directly from the GPS satellites and automatically reads it into the control unit every time.
Hedirect controlfrom digital SLR cameras via the supplied cable is possible with NexStar SE 4 and SE5. This allows you to program continuous shooting (for example, during a lunar eclipse) or perform surveillance tasks.
Remote control via PC : thanks to the supplied NexRemote program you can control the telescope remotely with any laptop/PC.
