Version without manual control - Built-in WiFi card

  • Telescope to begin astronomy
  • Ideal for planets, the Moon, and for beginners in deep sky observing
  • With motorized azimuth mount for easy observation
  • Automated tracking and signaling (GOTO)
  • Easy to carry, lightweight and compact.

The Sky-Watcher Mak127 combines compactness and performance. Twice as bright as the Mak90, observing deep-sky objects becomes even more evident. In a planetarium, the higher resolution allows for successful imaging. The primary mirror, combined with the secondary mirror and a multi-coated concave meniscus, produces stunning results. Observation of Saturn, accompanied by its rings, is fantastic. Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, reveals fine details of its atmosphere.

The Moon is a marvel that you can contemplate for years, as the number of craters scattered across its surface is significant. Unlike achromatic glass, there is no chromaticity. The tube is very compact and the whole unit is easily transportable. Paired with long focal length eyepieces, observing the brightest deep-sky objects, such as the Great Orion Nebula (M42), the Hercules Cluster (M13), or the Perseus Double Cluster, will satisfy both the beginner and the curious amateur. Under very dark skies, other objects (those in the Messier catalog in particular) can easily be distinguished.

Focusing, a key element for obtaining quality images, is achieved by translating the primary mirror to provide sufficient focusing travel with numerous accessories. Warm-up (especially the cooling of the meniscus) is rapid (much less than 30 minutes).

The SynScan Go-To automatic signaling system

This version of the AZ GOTO mount (without hand controller) requires the download of the free SynScan app. You can then control your mount directly with your smartphone or tablet thanks to a Wi-Fi card integrated into the mount. When the connection is enabled, you can control your mount from the SynScan app with the same functionality as your hand controller.

For added user convenience, SkyWatcher has decided to equip part of its range of instruments with a dual-axis motorized azimuth and GOTO mount capable of rapid pointing and tracking. So there's no need to know the position of distant stars or deep-sky stars; the SkyWatcher AZ-Go2 mount takes care of moving the instrument toward the target you wish to observe. After calibration (setup), pointing the optical tube to north, and leveling, select mount alignment on one or two stars. More than 42,900 objects, including all major catalogs, are registered in the database (Messier, NGC, IC, as well as the planets, the Moon, and the Sun).

For maximum convenience, the mount is quickly navigated using the buttons on the SynScan app on your smartphone or tablet. Easy to use, it helps you quickly point the instrument at any galaxy, nebula, cluster, or object in the solar system. Discover in detail the famous Andromeda Galaxy, the fabulous draperies surrounding the heart of Orion, the Hercules cluster M13 and its heart rich with thousands of stars. Saturn, Jupiter, and the Moon are also marvels to scrutinize without restraint.

The "Tour" function allows you to point the AZ-Go2 at the most interesting objects for an entire evening. Enjoy a guided tour of the sky from your observing location based on the object presented in a drop-down list.

The ability to track (motorize) any object eliminates the need for manual inspections. The object remains in the center of the field, making it easier to identify details, especially on the planets. Thanks to a load capacity of approximately 5 kg, the Sky-Watcher Mak127 mm telescope is securely held and vibrations are quickly damped despite the single-arm fork. Mounting is via a Vixen-type male dovetail; the instrument is thus quickly and easily detachable from the frame. Another long-term advantage is that the mount is scalable: it can accommodate other instruments (telescopes, refractors) thanks to its dovetail bracket.

You can also use the "Point-and-Go" feature: point your smartphone at a region of the sky... thanks to the SynScan app, the mount will move directly there. Updates will be ongoing to increase the app's functionality. PC control via Wi-Fi is possible, with ASCOM and EQMOD compatibility.
