An excellent camera for the most demanding planetary photographers!
The ASI224MC color camera has a 1/3" 1.2 Mpx sensor equipped with the technologiesExmorandNIRfrom Sony.
The comparatively small sensor, virtually no readout noise, high sensitivity in the near IR spectrum and high FPS processing speed make this camera a great choice for the most ambitious planetary photographers. At full resolution the frame rate per second is 64 fps with 12 Bit ADC or 150 fps with 10 Bit ADC.
Given these characteristics, the camera is especially suitable for photographing planets, although, as it supports exposure times of up to 1000 seconds, in principle it is also suitable for capturing deep sky objects.
As it is a color camera, it does not require additional wheels or color filters. So if you're in a hurry and don't mind making some concessions, this is without a doubt the best planetary camera you can get at this price.
ZWO supplies its camera with a small 2.1 mm lens that will allow you to take photos during the day to, for example, get familiar with the software.
