MAGUS CLM microscope cameras are designed for imaging in fluorescent light and darkfield. The CLM30 produces a color image with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels (at 45fps) or 1920x1080 pixels (at 70fps). As a result, the researcher receives high-quality material: the object is clearly visible, and video frames are smoothly replaced. This is important if the object under the objective is moving. The 8.3MP sensor resolution makes it possible to use this camera with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives: the device is able to display finer elements in greater detail. The built-in USB 3.0 interface transfers data at high speed when connected to a computer. The high technical characteristics of the device make the camera ideal for professional research work and for university teaching.
The camera is equipped with a SONY Exmor color CMOS sensor with a 1/1.2'' diagonal. SONY sensors use back-illuminated technology, which makes the camera’s light sensitivity 5970mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. The pixel size in the CLM30 model is 2.9x2.9 μm. A high-quality color image is obtained even when working with fluorescent light and low-magnification objectives. The widest field of view without distortion will be achieved with an adapter with a magnification of 0.75–1x.
Another feature of this model is the built-in Peltier element (thermoelectric module). During long-term operation, the sensor heats up. This leads to thermal noise and deterioration of image quality. The Peltier element maintains a temperature of 42 °C below ambient temperature and cools the sensor so it can be used for long periods of time and take images with long shutter speeds.
The camera operates with proprietary software that allows you to take photos and record videos, process the results, and measure the linear and angular dimensions of the object and its structures. Before measuring, calibrate the device for each objective. The ability to display real-time images on an external screen is useful if you need to demonstrate the observations to an audience.
The camera is installed in the trinocular tube of the microscope and connected to it using a C-mount adapter.
