MAGUS DFS2 Darkfield Slider For darkfield observations
The slider compensator enables darkfield technique in MAGUS Bio 260 series microscopes. Darkfield technique is used to image unstained translucent specimens that do not absorb light well and are invisible in brightfield. The slider compensator is a plate with two round slots. There is a free position for brightfield technique. The second one is closed by a darkfield diaphragm. The slider compensator is inserted into the slot of the Abbe condenser and is used instead of the dry darkfield condenser to work with objectives with an N.A. of up to 0.9. The slider compensator allows you to easily switch between objectives.
To obtain a contrast image of the sample using the darkfield technique, it is recommended to use a 0.17 mm thick coverslip and a 1.2 mm thick slide.
