MAGUS PH2 phase contrast device
For phase contrast microscopy
The MAGUS PH2 phase contrast device consists of a phase contrast condenser, a set of phase objectives, and a centering telescope.
The phase contrast device is used for studying transparent, low-contrast specimens that are not visible in the brightfield. Staining kills living cells. The main advantage of the technique is that it can be used to study unstained living organisms in their natural state. The technique is applied in medicine, ecology, pharmacology, agriculture, etc.
Phase contrast condenser
The phase contrast condenser is installed to replace the brightfield condenser. The rotating condenser includes four annular diaphragms for use with 10x, 20x, 40x, and 100x objectives, and a free hole for brightfield observations. The diaphragms in the turret are used depending on the objective to be used.
Plan achromatic phase objectives
Phase objectives differ from normal objectives by having a phase ring in the exit pupil plane.
Plan achromatic phase objectives form an image that has the same focus in the center and at the edges, and therefore the distortion is negligible. Chromatic aberrations are corrected for blue and red, spherical aberration for green, and field curvature is corrected for 90% of the field of view diameter.
The 10x objective is designed for working with specimens with or without a coverslip. The 20x, 40x, and 100x objectives are used for observing specimens with a 0.17 mm coverslip. The 100x objective supports oil immersion. The objectives are designed for the tube length with infinity correction. The parfocal distance is 60 mm.
Centering telescope
Using a centering telescope, the sliding ring diaphragms are aligned with the objective phase rings.
