AstroSolar solar eclipse glasses have been designed tosafely observe the Sun and partial eclipses. They have a patented protective filmapproved by the European Community developed byBaaderthat reduces, by a factor of 100,000, the amount of light that the eye receives from the sun.
The protective film that acts as a filter is made of acompletely uniform material free of substratesand guarantees a homogeneous density over its entire surface. It has been developed in nuclear research and elementary particle physics laboratories. Thanks to the total homogeneity of the material, it has anoptical qualityequivalent to that of aplan-parallel glass solar filter. In addition, vaporized reflective layers are added to the Baader protective film on both sides. With this, it is possible not only to eliminate any defects in the film, but also to be able to provideimages of the Sun full of contrast and without color errors.
