The MAGUS Bio DH260 microscope is a general-purpose microscope designed in its basic configuration for working with biological samples in transmitted light using the brightfield method. If the device is equipped with additional components, research can be carried out using fluorescent or polarized light, as well as using the darkfield method or phase contrast. The microscope features a binocular head with an integrated camera and a coded revolving nosepiece that, when changing magnification, maintains the user-selected illumination intensity. It also has an LCD screen that displays the operating parameters of the microscope.

The head with two eyepiece tubes is complemented by a digital camera. The eyepiece tubes are designed for infinity-corrected optics. The microscope kit includes 10x/22mm eyepieces that are equipped with a diopter adjustment mechanism and a long eye relief for working with glasses. To protect the lenses from scuffs and scratches, flat rubber eyecups have been placed on the eyepieces.

The integrated 8 MP digital camera produces images with 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels). The high resolution will allow you to study the sample in detail. The camera is most effective when combined with 4x and 10x objectives. When recording video, the camera produces 30 fps at maximum resolution: the footage is high quality and movement is authentically transmitted, without "gaps" between frames. The camera can be used for taking photos and recording research videos, displaying images on the screen, and for focusing the optical system. The device is equipped with a Wi-Fi interface that is used to transfer data to external devices.

The revolving nosepiece has slots for 5 objectives. It is installed "inwards": the working objective is located closer to the user, and the other objectives are oriented in the opposite direction. This position leaves a lot of free space in front of the user, which can be used to manipulate the sample. The microscope comes with four plan achromatic objectives of different magnifications; the user can use the fifth slot according to their needs. The parfocal distance is 60 mm. The slot above the nosepiece is designed to house the analyzer when working with polarized light.

The revolving nosepiece is coded: the user adjusts the light intensity for each objective once, and then, when the nosepiece is rotated, the light is adjusted automatically. This feature makes working with the microscope faster and more convenient: each objective transmits light differently depending on its magnification. When changing objectives, the light intensity in the eyepiece changes a lot and needs to be adjusted each time. In addition, changes in light brightness strain the eyes. The coded nosepiece saves you time and effort.

Focusing is done using the coarse and fine adjustment knobs located on the same axis. Coarse adjustment is done with the left knob, and for fine adjustment there are knobs on both sides. The right knob has finger grips. The stiffness of the coarse focus travel can be adjusted with the special adjustment ring on the left.

The stage does not have a positioning rack, which makes the design more ergonomic. The sample is moved across the stage surface using a belt-drive mechanism. The sample holder is initially fixed to the stage with two screws, but can be quickly removed if manual scanning is to be performed. The stage is controlled by a long handle: to manipulate it, the user can comfortably keep their hands on the table.

The condenser located under the stage controls the illumination of the sample using an iris diaphragm. For easy adjustment, the condenser of this microscope has marks indicating the magnification of the objectives, and on its ring there is a pointer, which is adjusted to the mark corresponding to the selected objective. As a result, the image is sharp and contrasted. When carrying out studies using the darkfield or phase contrast methods, the corresponding sliding compensators are installed in a slot in the condenser.

The microscope's light source is a 3W LED with a stable color temperature. LEDs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The microscope has a Köhler illumination system, which creates uniform illumination of the object across the entire field of view. The objectives work at maximum resolution and dust or other foreign objects do not get in the way of the field of view.

The operating parameters are shown on the LCD screen, integrated into the base of the microscope. On it, you can see the selected objective magnification, the illuminator brightness, and the operating mode, as well as adjust the automatic shut-off time. Manipulations are performed using two handles.

The microscope's design is intended for comfortable work. It has a special handle for moving it and the power cord is hidden: it is safe and convenient to handle and store. The microscope can be complemented with the necessary accessories to extend its functionality: eyepieces, components for optional research methods, and a calibration slide for measuring objects.
