TheiEXOS-100is aGOTO WiFi or wiredcomputerized astronomical equatorial mount complete with integrated PMC-Eight electronics, suitable for mounting small telescopes or DSLR cameras connected to a Vixen-styledovetail plate. An ST-4 compatible autoguidance port isalso included for active follow control. It can be used with thefree ExploreStars app for tablets (Windows, Android, iOS)or the free ASCOM-compliant Explore Scientific POTH Client (wired or wireless) towork with virtually any ASCOM-compliant astronomy software.
The iEXOS-100 usesprovenGerman equatorial mount design and the revolutionary PMC-Eight™ motion control systemfrom Explore Scientific to seamlessly navigate the night sky and track objects moving through it. This combination provides excellent observing and imaging performance without paying an exorbitant price. GOTO systems play an important role in the world of amateur astronomy, allowing users to spend less time searching for particular objects and more time observing and taking images. The PMC-Eight, with its versatile connections compatible with free apps for Window, Android and iOS, or with the free ASCOM POTH Client to connect to your favorite ASCOM-compatible astronomical software, allows you to control the telescope from a few meters away, or computer-to-computer communication with an Internet connection from almost anywhere in the world.
One of the standout features of the iEXOS-100 system is its German equatorial design. When it comes to tracking the stars with a telescope, there's nothing like a German equatorial mount, as it tracks objects as they rise in the east and set in the west. For observers, a German equatorial mount makes it easy to keep the celestial object in the celestial eyepiece. To capture images, it helps avoid common pitfalls of astrophotography, such as rotation of the field of view. Before you can track an object, you have to find it, and this can become a difficult task when faced with a vast black sky with a huge number of stars. The iEXOS-100 incorporates apowerful GOTO systemto your arsenal of astronomical instruments to eliminate the frustration that could come with navigating the night sky. This integrated version of Explore Scientific's PMC-Eight™ system goes beyond the industry-standard single processor, using eight CPUs that operate independently of each other and focus on defined functions. This delegation of tasks between processors produces a system that provides excellent responsiveness, efficiency, reliability and astonishingly short command intervals for flawless images and precise tracking.
Although the interior is complex, the GOTO system can be easily operated from an Apple, Android or Windows tablet using the ExploreStars app. Its intuitive nature will make it quick and easy for you to align the telescope, navigate the stars, and learn a lot about thousands of celestial objects. This dynamic application is powered by a database that is updated periodically to ensure it remains a relevant resource. Our commitment to creating an optimized GOTO mount is evident in many other design features. The iEXOS-100 has axis locksthat allow you to quickly change the position of the telescope from one side to the other and a knob for continuous altitude adjustment. The base of the mountincludes a small polar orientation tunnelwhich allows users to align their observation with the North Star. It also has a simple bubble level that is very practical for stabilizing the tripod. Other features include a battery compartment holder, which powers the PMC-Eight system™ via 8 C batteries (not included); two 1 kg counterweights for balancing; andglow-in-the-dark markersat certain points on the mount and tripod, so you don't lose your bearings when mounting them at night. The mount is designed to support up to 7 kg of astronomical equipment.
IMPORTANT NOTE To start using the ExploreStars app, download the free app and the celestial data set containing astronomical catalogues, reference images and reference texts. Simply unzip the ExploreStars folder containing the expanded celestial data set into your Images directory, and you will increase the original database of one thousand objects to over seventy thousand objects.
