To produce a three-dimensional image, the Abbe stereo microscope uses a common main objective, placed exactly perpendicular to the sample plane. The light passing through or reflected from the sample enters the main objective and is distributed into two parallel optical channels. The stereo angle is 11°. The light is directed into the eyepieces or the digital camera. Changing the main objective modifies the magnification, field of view, and working distance of the microscope.

MAGUS Stereo A6, A8, and A10 microscopes are equipped with a 1x achromatic objective that provides a high degree of correction for field curvature, as well as spherical and chromatic aberrations.
The MAGUS 05A 0.5x achromatic main objective increases the working distance without loss of image quality and expands the field of view in the eyepieces and digital camera, while reducing the overall magnification of the stereo microscope.
