Measuring eyepiece MAGUS SD10S 10x/22 mm (D 30 mm) With diopter adjustment. Magnification: 10x. Field of view: 22 mm. Measuring scale with 0.1 mm divisions
The measuring eyepiece is used to measure the size of observed samples and their structures in linear units: millimeters or micrometers. The eyepiece is installed to replace a standard 10x eyepiece. The measuring scale is located in the field diaphragm plane, with 0.1 mm divisions. Eyepiece diameter: 30 mm.
Preparation Before measuring, it is necessary to calibrate the eyepiece scale for each objective magnification to be used. For this, a calibration slide is required: a stage micrometer with a scale. For a stereomicroscope, we recommend using a calibration slide with a scale division of 0.1 mm. The calibration slide should be placed on the stage and the microscope should be focused on the measuring scale. The eyepiece is rotated in the eyepiece tube until the stage micrometer and eyepiece scales are parallel to each other.
Calculation of the eyepiece reticle value for each objective magnification The calculation for each objective magnification is performed according to the formula: E=TL/A, where: E = eyepiece scale division; T = stage micrometer scale division marked on the stage micrometer (0.01 mm); L = number of divisions on the stage micrometer; A = number of divisions on the eyepiece scale.
The resulting values from calculating the eyepiece scale division for each objective magnification should be noted.
Calculation of the true linear size of an object When measuring an object, you must first count the number of eyepiece scale divisions that the object covers. The result is multiplied by the previously calculated scale value for the selected objective magnification. The resulting value will be the true linear value of the object.
