Omegon Redline SW - 70° Wide Angle Eyepiece with ED Optics
You may have experienced it before, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't get objects in perfect focus. It's usually because the eyepiece isn't the right one, and these are often the deciding factors for a successful or unsuccessful observation.
The Omegon Redline eyepieces always reproduce objects with great contrast thanks to an integrated ED element. With a 70° viewing angle, they bring a large portion of the sky closer to you.
ED element - high contrast for planetary and deep-sky observations
It's hard not to be amazed by the brightness, clarity, and color depth this eyepiece brings to observed objects. It's all thanks to the contrast and sharpness that allow you to recognize details on Jupiter's surface: its bands, tiny swirls, and different shades and tones.
Just like in the movies: 70° wide angle
The Redline telescopes offer a 70° field of view so you can see a wide section of the sky. Unlike eyepieces of the past, these won't allow you to see through a tube. You'll be able to observe even the largest objects in their entirety. With 70°, you have enough field of view to avoid eye strain and allow you to fully relax while observing.
Interpupillary distance for comfortable viewing
20 mm distance allows any observer to relax and not get tired during observation, and this is true for all eyepieces in the series, regardless of their focal length.
Good news for observers who wear glasses: You don't have to take them off! Even with them on, you can take advantage of 100% of the field of view. Plus, if your glasses correct astigmatism, it's even better to observe with them, as the sharpness will be even greater.
Astrophotography? Easy peasy!
Hidden beneath the rubber eyepiece is a thread for attaching an adapter, such as an M43 to T2 for SLR or compact cameras. Why not try planetary photography? Or nebula photography? With these eyepieces, you won't have to choose just one field of view...
1.25" and 2" connection - without changing adapters
Redline models with focal lengths between 17mm and 3.5mm have 1.25" and 2" attachment points. They feature an adapter that converts the 1.25" attachment point to a 2" attachment point, so you don't need to mount additional adapters and can simply use a 2" eyepiece holder.
A series that covers all your needs
The Redline series consists of eyepieces with six different focal lengths: 32 mm, 22 mm, 17 mm, 13 mm, 8 mm, 5 mm, and 3.5 mm. A single series covers a wide range of magnifications. The great advantage for the observer: All models offer high-quality images.
Furthermore, each change of eyepiece barely affects the focus.
All the advantages:
- Sharp images right to the edge - even in Newtonians of f/5
- 20 mm interpupillary distance - convenience and comfort
- Suitable for viewing with glasses
- 70° field of view
- Astrophotos: M43 thread under the rubber eyepiece (for optional adapters)
- Handling the eyepiece with gloves thanks to its structure
- Anodized color rings identify each eyepiece for easier recognition
- 1.25" and 2" connection
Without changing adapters
Omegon Redline eyepieces, with focal lengths between 17 and 3.5 mm, have connection points of 1.25" and 2". They have an adapter that converts the 1.25" connection point to 2", so you don't need to purchase any additional adapters. Enjoy the full focal length range offered by the Redline series with your 2" eyepiece holder. The 22 and 32 mm focal length models have a 2" connection point only. In return, they benefit from a full 2" diameter light input.
A series for everything
Omegon's Redline eyepiece line features six different models with the following focal lengths: 32 mm, 22 mm, 17 mm, 13 mm, 8 mm, 5 mm, and 3.5 mm. This means you can cover a wide magnification range with the same series of eyepieces. Why change eyepieces when the Redline provides you with high-quality images?
You'll barely have to adjust the focus after changing eyepieces—another advantage of not changing series...
