The Omegon Super Angle Eyepiece Series (OSA) represents a new milestone among super angle eyepieces.

For a long time now, super-angle eyepieces have prevailed due to their extremely large apparent field of view. But only with the OSA, the space walk effect, the view through the window of a special ship, is almost realized.

Powerful eyepieces for outstanding telescopes

The essential difference between Omegon's new OSA eyepieces and traditional super-angle eyepieces is a new design of both the exterior and interior. Regarding the exterior, an ergonomic rubber coating and new eyelets have been added that not only improve comfort, but also handling.

Regarding the optical system, five glass elements have been incorporated that, depending on the focal length, are arranged in three or four groups. They give a apparent visual field of 70° with sharp edge rendering and almost no distortion. The human eye is capable of seeing a 70° field very well, without having to adapt the view in the eyepiece. Also on relatively fast systems with short focal lengths you can use these eyepieces.

Thanks to a procedure new wide range multiple bonus , it has been possible to further increase transparency. The edges of all lenses are blackened, and the internal aperture system also essentially contributes to reducing ghosting. Only the excellent transparency of the glass surfaces, in combination with the suppression of reflections, guarantees a contrast-rich image.

Large assortment of 2" and 1.25" eyepieces

The OSA series from Omegon consists of six eyepieces: 38mm, 32mm, 26mm, 20mm, 15mm and 10mm. The 38mm, 32mm and 26mm eyepieces are supplied as a 2" version. They are ideal tools for observing deep space objects and give gigantic apparent fields of view. The eyepieces with shorter focal lengths of 20mm, 15mm and 10mm are equipped with a 1.25" sleeve. All eyepieces in this series are homofocal, meaning when you change eyepieces you don't have to refocus.

The new eyepiece can be adjusted freely, that is, you can adjust the distance to the eyes at will . Even with glasses you can take advantage of the full 70° field of view.
