Slides and cover glasses are an indispensable accessory that also affects image quality. In most biological microscopes, the thickness of the cover glass is an important optical parameter, so it is included in the optical design and, if so, it is printed on the sleeve of each objective. You can usually see the number 0.17 which is the thickness in millimeters. For the most demanding applications in the laboratory, or for microphotography, it is necessary to use cover glasses with the desired thickness and of high quality.

The cover glasses included in the set are made of Boro 3.3 glass and are standardized with a thickness of 0.16-0.19mm. They fit the desired 0.17mm very well and offer the best possible image quality. These Boro 3.3 cover glasses are pure white, scratch-free, and are pre-cleaned and ready for use. They are also especially suitable for fluorescence microscopy.

The slides are made of soda-lime glass and have ground edges for safe handling. They have a frosted field for writing on both sides (top and bottom). The slides and cover glasses are packed separately and in a vacuum-sealed bag, which contains a moisture absorber. They can be stored for a long time without losing quality due to hydrolysis and are easy to remove.
