The Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Doublet Carbon OTA Apochromatic Refractor features a carbon fiber body, making it lighter and more compact than many other telescopes, and is suitable for use in the field. The telescope produces a clear and contrasted image, provides a good overview and is excellent in astrophotography. You can easily take great photos of the night sky using this optical tube, but it is also very suitable for visual observations. This instrument allows you to observe all the objects in the Messier catalog, many nebulae and star clusters, as well as some planets in the Solar System.

The optics are made of very low dispersion glass to eliminate chromatic distortion, which most refractors, including achromats, are subject to. This effectively reduces chromatic aberrations, especially secondary and spherochromatic aberrations. As a result, the image is of excellent quality, even when observations are made at high magnification. The integrated, dual-speed Crayford focuser allows for precise and fluid focus adjustment.

Because the optical elements are housed in a carbon fiber body, thermal stabilization is twice as fast. This is because the properties of carbon do not change with changes in temperature and, therefore, to start observing, all you have to do is wait for the optical elements to "cool down". The optical tube can be installed on most modern telescope mounts. The kit includes a practical and robust aluminum case to transport and store the telescope.
