Two-lens apochromatic refractor with very low dispersion optics. Opening: 80mm. Focal length: 500mm
The Levenhuk Ra R80 ED Doublet Carbon OTA model is an 80 mm short focal length apochromatic refractor with very low dispersion optics. It has a large aperture and a wide field of view, but its main advantage is that it effectively reduces chromatic aberration and therefore transmits a very sharp image. Thanks to fully multi-coated optics, the telescope produces bright, high-contrast images. This optical tube is an excellent choice for visual observations and astrophotography.
The body is made of carbon fiber, which is lighter than aluminum. In addition, the thermal stabilization of the optical tube is faster, since the properties of the carbon body do not change with changes in temperature, and it is only necessary to wait for the optical elements and the air inside to "cool down." This fact, along with the quick-release thumbscrew, allows you to start observing more quickly. The optical tube features a 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser. This focuser provides fluid adjustment of sharpness, with no backlash, and securely holds even heavy optical accessories.
The Levenhuk Ra R80 ED Doublet Carbon OTA model is very suitable for use in the field due to its compact size and light weight, as well as being mobile and easy to transport. Additionally, the kit includes a robust aluminum case.
Note: The kit does not include the mount, tripod or optical accessories.
