Its Newton design offers several advantages over other families of instruments (refractor telescopes and Cassegrain telescopes).Firstly, mirrors are cheaper to manufacture (spherical mirror) for equal diameter and their focal ratio is generally smaller.The central obstruction is also weaker than Cassegrain-type telescopes,If collimation (mirror adjustment) is well respected, the image quality is good in planetarium.
The EQ2 mount allows precise positioning in the sky thanks to the flexibles present on each axis.The fixing collars allow the glasses to be adapted to the frame.The equatorial mode design allows after parking (simple adjustment of the orientation of the mount towards the North Star) to compensate for rotation not in two axes (altaz mount) but only in one.An engine is present in Right Ascension (RA) to compensate for the apparent movement of the stars in the sky (due to the Earth's rotation).When the target object is in the center of the field, it will remain that way for several minutes when the engine is turned on (provided you have performed a station setup/alignment on the North Star).
