Moon
Lunar craters and ridges can be easily seen. Watch the sun rise over the craters as more and more details become visible!

The planets
Observe the phases of Venus or the rings of Saturn. On Jupiter you can see many details, including atmospheric bands and Galilean moons. In good conditions, you can see the great red spot – a massive hurricane twice the size of our home planet!

The stars
Hundreds of distant objects are within reach of this telescope. Compared to the naked eye, the telescope collects almost 140 times more light! Observe multiple stars with their often colorful components. Discover the ring nebula in Lyra: the remains of an old star that has expired. You can even see objects outside our own galaxy: globular star clusters orbiting our Milky Way, or the Great Andromeda Galaxy, our closest major neighbor galaxy. Here, the improvement in light gathering power and resolution compared to a 60mm refractor will be particularly evident.

Our land
You can also use this telescope as a powerful spyglass to view objects on the planet's side, such as birds, ships, mountains,... EQ3-1 - a solid foundation for the telescope:

The EQ3-1 holds the telescope with very good stability. Many other telescopes in this price range are only offered in the EQ-1 or a similar mount that is smaller for a telescope of this size.

1.25" solid focuser:

An often overlooked and particularly important detail. The focuser's job is to hold the eyepiece ("magnifying lens") in place and focus it to get a sharp image. The eyepiece defines the magnification you get. The Starscope 809 has a standard 1.25" focuser, not the previous 24.5mm size. As a result, you can choose from hundreds of optional accessories available for 1.25" finderscopes.

5x24 Finder:

The focuser helps you find and center the object you want to view in the telescope. It has a much larger field of view than the telescope and a crosshair.
